When Tamper Resistant Outlets Are Required
Regardless of whether or not you own or rent your residence or have children, tamper resistant receptacles are required. Even if you don’t have children living with you, children of friends and relatives require protection when visiting. Tamper Resistant Outlets
Simply covering an unused outlet with a receptacle cap or outlet cover is not sufficient protection for children. These products are easily removed and once removed the outlet is no longer protected. Furthermore, the receptacle cap or outlet cover can be a choking hazard.
